About Us

“So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

OUR MISSION: TRAIN, ENCOURAGE and ASSIST church leaders in less-visited regions of the world to equip God’s people for the work of reaching the lost and disciple nations.”

We TRAIN by conducting in-country Seminars, teaching Biblical principles and truths which impart faith and vision, enabling indigenous church leaders and their spouses to equip others for the work of ministry. Ephesians 4:11-12.

We ENCOURAGE leaders by coming alongside them bringing healing to those wounded and discouraged in ministry, praying and stirring up the gift of God in them to finish their God-given call. Great emphasis is placed on leaders networking with others in the Body of Christ, thus never to walk alone.

We ASSIST . . .

  1. By placing Study Resources and Teaching Tools into the hands of pastors and leaders in their own language, who otherwise have little or none.
  2. By providing partial Seminar Scholarships and travel expenses to those in economically depressed regions.
  3. By giving to Special Projects where local ministries and Bible Schools are in need of evangelism tools. (i.e. Bicycles, motorcycles, generators, musical instruments, sound systems, and translation of study materials in their language.)

History

Nations Reach has been an endeavor and passion in the heart of Dan and LaVonne Peterson since 1983 when they returned to the United States following 11 years of missionary service in Indonesia.

Dan’s entire life has revolved around missions. Both his grandparents Morgan and Mable Peterson as well as his parents Don and Carol Peterson were missionaries to Indonesia for over 35 years. Dan spent the first 15 years of his life in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, taking an English correspondence course through his Junior High class. Upon completion of High School in the United States Dan attended and graduated from the Pentecostal Bible School of East Java.

In 1971 he was married to his wife LaVonne and they both studied at and received diplomas from Bethel Temple Bible School in Seattle, Washington. The following year Dan and LaVonne left for Indonesia as full time missionaries where for 11 years they directed the North Sumatra Pentecostal Bible School.

During their 25 years of pastoring churches in the States, the Petersons have taken every opportunity possible to return to less-visited regions and countries, equipping and encouraging church leaders, often bring teams of pastors and teachers with them.

Today Dan and LaVonne are Missions Pastors at The City Church in Kirkland, Washington under the leadership of Pastor Wendell and Gini Smith, traveling extensively conducting leader seminars and taking teams of Bible School interns for mission encounters. In the past five years these teams have ministered in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Uganda, Holland and Senegal. Both are also members of Ministers Fellowship International, a fellowship of ministries around the world in relationship with each other for the purpose of building and multiplying strong local churches.

Vision

To reach the maximum amount of pastors and church leaders, strengthening their faith and supplying their hands with needed resources to equip believers for the work of ministry and thus edify the church of Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

Scripture - We believe in the plenary-verbal inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given and that they are infallibly and uniquely authoritative and free from error of any sort in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological.

God - We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible.

Creation - We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness.

The Lord Jesus Christ - We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, very God and very man.

Christ's Death & Resurrection - We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.

Christ's Bodily Ascension - We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for the Church.

Salvation By Grace Through Faith - We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins.

Water Baptism - We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of Christ.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit - We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation.

The Gifts of the Spirit - We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14, and as manifested in the Early Church.

Marriage - We believe in the sanctity of marriage as established by the Holy Scriptures and that God created marriage and that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.

Healing - We believe in the healing of the body by Divine Power, or Divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church.

Communion - We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord's Supper, for believers.

Eternal Life - We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3: 16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers.

Satan & His Judgement - We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels.
